I’m Rebecca & I CRUSH LISTS
Doesn’t that sound like a good starting point?
I majored in Accounting after being told I would never make a living in a creative field like fashion design or textiles and to consider something that allowed you flexibility in your career throughout the years. I could have never imagined the value of flexibility 20 years later.
I worked in various accounting positions at Miller Brewing and then led the integration of the Accounting team during the Miller Brewing / Coors Brewing joint venture. Post-integration, I led other finance and revenue management analytics team honing my ability to translate and simplify complex financial data to actionable tasks to drive profitability.
The start-up scene in Chicago (young, energetic brains, hip offices, minimal meetings, and limitless ideas) was alluring so in July 2012, I joined Luxury Garage Sale as the head of Finance. While at Luxury Garage Sale, I ran the Finance and HR functions. I quickly learned that finance at a start-up means: minimal resources (you have to be the strategic thinker and complete the bank reconciliations) and crazy hours.
In addition to waking up thinking about cash burn, I was raising 4 kids under 5 and knew above anything else I needed FLEXIBILITY. In the fall of 2018, I created Good Measure Group to meet a need I recognized in the start-up space: smaller businesses needed finance and HR expertise and could not afford a full time headcount for either. I tell people: Use my brain to help crush your list!
Through the network I had built over my professional career, I partner with small and mid-size companies needing general or specific finance and HR support. As my client list grew, I needed help to maintain the level of flexibility that I had grown to appreciate and began partnering with other female business owners with capacity in similar areas of expertise.
At Good Measure Group we partner with small to mid-size companies to build out strong finance and organizational foundation for future years of growth. Our thought leadership includes:
